Shades of Purple
2020
Designing a complete graphic system and brand identity for an artistic version of a toy from the Adventure Time TV show. The toy reflects the essence of Lumpy Space Princess.

"Shades of Purple" is a collectors toy design consisting of an art-like toy, a booklet, and packaging based on Lumpy Space Princess, a character from the series Adventure Time. The toy expresses an alter ego character interpretation based on sexual desires, specifically fetishes and the cosmic theory. This theory describes an individual who places themselves at the center of the universe, which connects to sexual desires and forms Lumpy Space Princess into a control-seeking and dominant persona hence toy. The items revolving around her are desires shaping the DNA of her sexual fantasies. The deeper the lust or the passion, the deeper the shade of purple.

Lumpy Space Princess is an intriguing, sassy, stubborn, arrogant, dramatic yet funny character from Adventure Time. My interpretation that leads to the final collectors' design was inspired by Lumpy Space Princess's overexaggerated personality, sexual innuendos, and obsession with herself. ”Everybody get ready to pay attention to me!”

Lumpy Space Princess introduces the booklet, which describes why the toy elements were selected. Features such as the mask or corset were inspired by Lumpy Space Princess clothes such as the red dress. Whereas other elements were created from the BDSM fetish perspective, such as the flogger, handcuffs, or sex toys.

The packaging was inspired by the Adventure Time episode that depicts the secret way to enter Lumpy Space. A frog that acts as the bridge to Lumpy Space can only be entered with the code "whatever it's 2009." One is taken through a psychedelic yellow, pink spiral to Lumpy Space Princess, home of purple shades and pink mint clouds.
